Starting with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I began to think about some things that have occurred in America, and then decided to do some research.
Our Population Conundrum
The liberals or “the Left” as we call them, are great proponents of abortion…you know, a “woman’s right to choose” and “my body, my choice”…so I wanted to know how many legal abortions were actually performed in the United States since Roe vs Wade became law in 1973. There were 63.5 million reported abortions through October 2025 since 1973…63,510,000 babies were aborted, their lives ended, since 1973….for whatever reason! Astounding! Let that number sink in. In 52 years since Roe vs Wade became the law of the land, over 63.5 million babies have had their lives terminated in America! I will bet few people realize that! But, as staggering as that number is, let us compare it to the actual deaths resulting from American Wars since the Revolutionary War 250 years ago:
When you portray this on a pie chart, only a minuscule section reflects our honored war dead recorded over the past 250 years, with the balance of the circle showing the 63 million infants whose lives were snuffed out before they even had a chance at living. Could one of those lives have discovered a cure for pediatric cancer, Alzheimer’s, or Parkinson’s? Perhaps one infant might have grown up to invent a new AI device to assist the elderly with severe chronic motor disabilities or enable those with spinal cord injuries to walk again? Perhaps one might have grown up to be an advocate for peace, a teacher, a writer, a brilliant mathematician? Surely, many would have grown up to be productive citizens of this great land, contributing to its growth and success, as well as to ours. But all of that is, sadly, a fleeting dream because all 43 million were denied the chance at leading good, productive lives.
Yes, there are valid and essential reasons for abortions….the life of the mother or baby at risk, for example. Tremendous birth defects that jeopardize the life of the infant, possibly another. But using abortion as a mechanism of birth control is not one of those reasons. Abortion is just another fancy word for killing, and the taking of a life does no one honor or justice… Moreover, it is detrimental to a nation’s lifeblood.
The Strange Disappearance of Alejandro Mayorkas
Does anyone see or hear how Alejandro Mayorkas is doing? You remember him, the person who lied to Congress and the American people for years about our Southern Border being closed while he was allowing 20 million people from all over the world to enter the United States illegally and wreaking havoc on our economic system. He just popped into my mind, appropriately so, while I was answering a call of nature.
The Strange Appearance of Zohran Mamdani
New York City Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani has outlined his answer to the so-called “affordability crisis” (a new term bandied about by liberal democrats who are good at giving any term the label “crisis”). In a real life strategy right out of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto, Comrade Mamdani intends to offer free bus rides, city run grocery stores where everything will be free, 911 emergency calls handled by social psychologists and case workers instead of police, freezing rents and, to control crime, his dangerous decarceration idea of closing Rikers Island Prison (“let ‘em all go free). Does all this sound good to you? What could possibly go wrong? This 34-year-old silver-spoon-fed miscreant will soon learn just how dumb these ideas really are. I hope it happens before his deep, bone-to-the-marrow dumb policies destroy the city where I grew up.
The Non-existent Two-State Solution
Can you believe there are still deeply stupid democrats (and sadly, a few Republicans) still talking about a two-state solution for Gaza? The other day, Hamas terrorists fired on Israeli soldiers, one of several instances of peace violations in that war-torn area. Hatred for Israel dates back thousands of years. The only way peace will be achieved is the utter destruction of Hamas because a two-state solution will never work. Ever.
Turning Point Returns
A wonderful thing happened at the University of Mississippi on October 29, 2025. On a dreary, rainy Wednesday morning, over half the University of Mississippi’s student body, along with 14,000 adults, turned out for a Turning Point USA Event to honor Charlie Kirk, who was murdered by an assassin’s bullet weeks before. They packed into The Pavilion on campus, a building more used to showcasing basketball and gymnastic events than a conservative political event. The crowd heard from Erika Kirk and Vice President J.D. Vance, who spent an hour answering questions from the student body. The central theme…Charlie Kirk’s message about what he thought a good life looked like, a life he tried to live. Charlie urged young people to fall in love, to get married, to start families. He urged them to commit more deeply to their Christian faith or to find God for the first time. Imagine holding college students’ attention for a few hours with a down-to-earth, conservative message like that!
And, then in a moment few will forget, at his memorial service in Arizona, Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, publicly forgave her husband’s killer! It seems to me that conservative views are taking a strong foothold in our nation, and it is refreshing to see. But there is another “turning point” worth mentioning as well. The election of Donald Trump for a second term as President of the United States is indeed a turning point in our nation, overcoming two false impeachments, unrelenting lawfare targeting him in an attempt to bankrupt him, unjustified raids on his home and attempts to remove him from the ballot in certain states, all in a vain and wasteful attempt to prevent him from being elected to the office he now holds.
Miss Palestine is not a Miss
I saw the cover story of a New York Post edition the other day in which Miss Palestine won the coveted Miss Universe Title! Fascinating. The story accompanying that headline went on the say that Miss Palestine was married to a Hamas terrorist and had a child. I found that quite interesting but also quite puzzling. Can you tell me where the state or country of Palestine is? Also, are there no rules about being married as a no-no in a Miss Universe Contest (especially to a known terrorist)?
Suspected Sedition in Congress
The Left has now reached a new low. Today, like trained seals clapping on command, they are clamoring for our military to refuse to follow the orders of their Commander in Chief, who happens to be the President of the United States. Their contention is that if the orders are illegal…but they do not conveniently specify which orders are unlawful or how that is to be determined…soldiers and sailors must refuse to obey them. This is what you get when you have people of low intelligence and even lower experience pontificating about how military organizations must, of necessity, be run. The liberal democrats loudly proclaiming this approach evidently have never heard of or blatantly choose to ignore the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the Chain of Command. Several do not understand why a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine does not have the luxury of sitting back and debating with his or her commanding officer whether the order makes legal sense. They must follow the orders given to them by those in charge, or people will die. The military is not a collegial debate club filled with would-be lawyers trained to argue. Congress does enough of that. If we listen to the lunatics espousing this approach, it may very well be tantamount to treason, and if so, they ought to be prosecuted or at least censored under the UCMJ.
President Trump Soldiers On
At the end of the day, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) continues to raise its ugly head and probably will continue to do so for as long as Trump is President. But the underlying reason for this maniacal reaction is becoming clearer each passing day. Democrats and the Left are resentful that a man who comes from industry and is not a product of the political good ol’ boy network, has risen to the rank of the Leader of the Free World and has begun to manage the affairs of our country in the manner a businessman needs to manage a large company….by holding people accountable and by getting rid of waste, fraud and abuse…and squeezing productivity out of every operating unit.
Trump’s view of business management is markedly different from that of those who have never run or managed a business before: problems need to be recognized, dealt with, and solved, and you do not solve problems simply by throwing money at them. Additionally, Trump believes the government needs to be lean, not bloated. Big government tends to get in the way of progress, becoming unwieldy and inefficient. On the other hand, Democrats tend to believe that Big Government can handle everything for the people from cradle to grave. Indeed, governmental entities like the Department of Education are the closest thing we have to Eternal Life in America than anything the Church can offer. Democrats fail to see this as a shortcoming, but their belief in Big Government does not work.
