President Trump

Like everyone else, I sat around in disbelief, watching replays of the attempted assassination of President Trump.  In what should have been a peaceful but enthusiastic rally in Pennsylvania, a gunman identified as twenty-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks made an attempt on his life.  Little has been reported on Crooks other than he is a Bethel Park, Pennsylvania resident.

Fortunately, the bullet only wounded the President, but at least one other person in the crowd died from one of the shots.  Currently, there is a report of another injured attendee, and we hope she fully recovers.  The Nation’s thoughts and prayers need to be with the family of the person who died.

Right Man, Right Time

I have had moments with President Trump when I wished he would take a more diplomatic approach to issues, but I was often proven wrong. The more we know about what he has been through, the more we must respect his toughness and willingness to sacrifice for the nation.

This is when we need to heal some wounds, but we also need someone in the White House who is tough.  President Trump is the Right man at the right time in our history.  Looking at the news reports, President Trump probably came as close as an inch or two to an assassination.

I do not believe there has ever been anyone in our nation’s history who had the toughness to withstand the persecution, slander, and now physical assaults that President Trump has faced.  He has the toughness to face down dictators, secure our borders, and stare down the bureaucrats in Washington.

Like so many before him, he is the right guy at the right time when we need him!

More to the Story

We all need to remember that we just witnessed an American tragedy and that events like this had a profound effect on others.  President Trump is a husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law.  His fate is tied to others, and we need to think about them as well.

Back to the Trail

My guess is tomorrow morning, or at least on Monday, President Trump will be back on the trail with his brash style, mocking the shooter and ready to get back to work.

He may very well be the person of destiny who has survived it all to lead our nation back to a better place.  I, for one, hope so!
