Signing The Constitution By Howard Chandler Cristie
As Intended by Our Founding Fathers
Before I get into the basics of my proposed study course, which is designed to renew the essence of a real and true American Republic, I want to share what many other people with whom I have spoken during my extensive travels around America and other parts of the world have shared with me.
A Lesson from Ancient Greece
Many people have told me that America’s growing apathetic political mindset has created our own internal issues similar to what Greece faced some 400 years before Christ. At that time, Greece was under a similar situation as America is now facing. Greece was warned by their philosopher, Demosthenes, that their own country had been infiltrated by Macedonian illiberal enemies who were threatening to take over the country. However, the populous did not believe the warning, and the population believed they could see no ships on the horizon, so they did not believe Demosthenes. The people did not see any ships on the horizon. And Macedonia was a long distance away. But the Macedonians had already infiltrated Greece. As our illiberal modern leftists have as well infiltrated America in modern times.
Enemies Both Domestic and Foreign
Today in America, we face a similar situation in that our illiberal enemies, both domestic and foreign, have already infiltrated our country and the government as well. The current evidence has manifested itself in the minds of many of our own youth who have been convinced by the current Education professionals that America never was the champion of freedom and opportunity, but rather, we are supposedly the spreaders of bias and racism.
Many of our youth have been suffering from nihilism and confusion resulting from the new classroom narrative, which should be punished for becoming common in terms of the mental condition of many, which is no longer about a heroic America. American youth who have had difficulty holding a job.
What has happened is the illiberal leftists who have infiltrated the American education system have radicalized the public school agenda to the extent that the typical classroom agenda has been filled with misinformation that informs the public school student that American history as the champion of freedom and opportunity was in reality not true, but rather America was the perpetrator of bias and racism.
Perverting the Truth
The noise that has been perpetrated by the modern illiberal leftists that all the founders wanted to do was to perpetrate slavery as it existed at that time was not only false but also has been refuted by educated people.
I know that this is a myth because I have spent many years traveling around the Americas (from 1964 to 2007) and several other countries, speaking with government officials and many others. I have spoken with many professionals from all walks of life, and it was a learning experience to learn from other informed historians that gullible Americans have been duped by illiberal leftists into believing their misguided lies.
Many history, political science, and other professionals worldwide have told me that Americans are the most gullible people in the world. Many have told me that Americans believe anything that others tell them if these illiberal “experts” tell them that they are smarter than everyone else.
My objective is not only to provide the supposedly gullible Americans in the country around without having to connect with the enemy.
The Macedonian Lesson
An interesting story comes from ancient Greece when they were under attack by the Macedonians, who had infiltrated Greece and stood ready to bring down Greece. The great Athenian patriot Demosthenes warned the Greeks that Macedonia was preparing to attack Greece. The attitude of the Greeks was similar to today’s Americans in that we do not see any enemies on the horizon, so why should we be concerned? Demosthenes tried to warn the Greeks that these enemies were already amongst them. Only at the eleventh hour did the Athenians realize that Demosthenes’ warning was accurate, but it was too late.
My Story
My story is a compilation of conversations I had with many people during my extensive travels not only around America but also through many countries in Europe and South America.
My decision to author this article and propose a renewal of the American concepts of government based upon an administration premised on self-government is also based upon a hopeful response from others willing to help. I have done much research and read hundreds of books, and my choices are:
- Principles of the American founding, mostly taken from the book entitled The American Cause by Russel Kirk, and originally published in 1957.
- A story about Christianity, entitled Making Sense of God, was written by Tim Keller, and published in 2006.
While my target is primarily the millions of immigrants who have crossed our borders, I would also expect that many of our younger patriots might be interested in more specific information relative to the unique characteristics of the American Republic.
One of my other objectives is to involve the family and the community. This country was initially created by the hundreds of communities that formed a more perfect union.
Furthermore, my proposal is aimed at the basic unit of America: the community and the family. We need to get back on track. and remind us that there is still time to renew the original purpose of why America became independent in 1776. w. Someone said that we needed to form a more perfect union. Well, we need to return to the community and the collection of families to recapture the American youth. Too many of them have been converted to believing that America was not the champion of freedom and opportunity but rather the spreader of bias and racism.
The enemy of America knows that this country cannot be defeated on the military battlefield, so they have turned to instigating divisiveness in American society. As a result of my extensive travels and contacts in both America and around the world, I have arrived at the opinion that the new battlefield is the immature mind of the American youth.
It is time, as I have already stated, that we need to start a push to renew the premise of the: principles of the American founding. And not only just for the misguided American youth but also for the millions of immigrants brought into America for political purposes with little or no verification.
So, we have a couple of challenges that will require the efforts and time of true American patriots.
We start there in the next article: a review of Russell Kirk’s presentation of the basic principles of the American founding in his book The American Cause.
