Republicans Are Easily Understood

Last week, our local newspaper (yes, there still are some remaining small-town papers) published a letter to the editor in which the writer professed not to understand anyone who could vote for President Trump or anyone who did not support abortion.  The writer went on to extoll the virtues of President Biden and explain how abortion was not so bad and necessary.  This was just before President Biden pardoned every corrupt family member and Democrat he had ever met.  Our paper limits us to only 350 words, so I had to boil down my response and revulsion to only some salient points.

In response to last week’s letter concerning President Trump and abortion, I am not surprised; these are always the talking points for liberals.  The Republicans nominated President Trump, and the American people elected him.  He would have failed in the general election if his nomination had been ill-advised.  He was elected with a popular and Electoral College majority.

President Biden did not try to serve all Americans, as has been noted in the recent floods in North Carolina.  His family is corrupt and morally bankrupt from top to bottom.  The preemptive pardons he issued to his family on the way out the door is an admission of guilt.  His Catholic roots got in the way of money and votes, so his stance on abortion had to morph into “a woman’s right to choose.”  With politicians, faith and morality often take a backseat to votes and money.  With Democrats, morality is frequently contextual, as with Bill Clinton’s situational ethics nonsense.

Nowhere is this compromise of principles more evident than in the issue of abortion and the votes and money Democrats derive from support.  Throughout history, nations often rot from within and fall when they begin to normalize amorality.  A woman’s right to choose starts with personal responsibility.  That right ends when a pregnancy begins and another life becomes involved.  In a nation where birth control is readily available and free, there are no unplanned pregnancies, only inconvenient ones from abdicated personal responsibility.  Many young women have been led to believe that abortion is a form of birth control, not a moral choice.  The psychological damage for the mother is constantly overlooked in the “right to choose” discussion.

This was evident last week when Congress voted on the “Born-alive” Bill.  All the bill requires is that a doctor provide care for a child born during an attempted abortion.  Democrats block-voted against the bill.  There is no moral stance here for Democrats.  For them, a child has no value, no matter its stage of development.  If you support any abortion, you support it all, and you have no moral high ground.

I would have elucidated these issues in more detail with a little more time and writing space because understanding Republicans is not tricky.  The real mystery is why Democrats struggle to understand morality and our Constitutional form of government.

I have experienced and understood enough to sort out facts from fiction in my seventh decade.  Ideological nonsense left over from the 1960s is only relevant to those among us who have not learned from history, ignore facts, or whose parents spent too much time at Woodstock to recover.  I saw an interview with Jane Fonda recently, and she is as delusional today as she was when she visited North Vietnam.  She was so divorced from reality that she had no idea anyone was struggling with the cost of living.  “Sure, prices of things like groceries had gone up a little, but it could not be that bad.”  Like most Hollywood liberals, she lives in a mythical utopian bubble.

If these concepts are difficult to understand, then you should move on because there will never be any meeting of minds on these issues.  I share these beliefs with other Republicans I know.

  1. Life is both precious and valuable. Therefore, abortion is one of the greatest national sins of our time and will have lasting negative repercussions on our society for decades, if not longer.  The notion of “A woman’s right to choose” is an abdication of personal responsibility and accountability. She and her partner “made the choice” when they decided to become intimate. The baby should not have to pay with his or her life because of their choice.  Shame has a value within societies, and we have pushed that notion aside with notable moral degradation.
  2. Traditional families are essential within every ethnic group, and the destruction of that construct through abortion and Federal “safety nets” lets people abdicate personal responsibility.
  3. All politicians seek votes to advance their constituents’ ideologies. However, President Trump stands out for his unusual courage and commitment to delivering his campaign promises.  Is he perfect?  But he is far ahead of the alternatives.  His first few weeks in office demonstrated his intent to fulfill his promises, which I find refreshing and rare.
  4. Our Federal Government has strayed significantly from our Founders’ goals, becoming a bureaucratic nightmare in many areas. The existence of a “Deep State” became evident when President Trump gained momentum in the election.  Restoring power to the States and reducing federal overreach is essential to returning to the principles our system was built upon.
  5. A sovereign nation is defined by its borders, form of government, and common purpose. We are a nation of immigrants, but no nation can continue to exist without growing organically and vetting immigrants.  Like abortion and broken families, open borders work to destroy us from within.
  6. Our public schools are a disaster, and our students are falling behind other nations in critical skills. Liberals know this, and it serves several purposes.  Education failure maintains a class distinction and is used as a wedge issue in elections.  Parents and local school boards know best, and education should be returned to their control.
  7. There are two genders; any other notion destroys our youth and sense of national cohesion. Our enemies know this and have used social media and other platforms to try and ruin our upcoming generations.
  8. Faith is essential, and believing in something bigger than yourself is crucial for personal growth. History proves that moral and ethical boundaries are necessary to maintain order and to keep a nation from descending into chaos.  In my lifetime, this has come from the Bible and Christianity.  Self-actualization does not come from self-help books.  If you want to be bigger and better, you must believe in something bigger and better than you are.  Democrats have openly attacked people of faith in direct opposition to the Constitution.
  9. Personal accountability and responsibility are as American as any concepts. Our forefathers tenaciously moved west from the original colonies, often with little more than a horse and belief in themselves.  Recently, politicians have worked to build government dependence and destroy our self-reliance.  It is to their advantage that we become weak and dependent.
  10. Progress and innovation are key to our capitalist roots. But with innovation and change comes the responsibility to make intelligent choices.  Change for the sake of change is worthless.  Change that builds on success and drives us forward is essential at home and abroad.

There is more, but for this discussion, this is enough to grasp the difference between Democrats and Republicans.  Throughout history, we have disagreed on many issues but worked our way through them.  With technology, we have allowed those within and outside our borders to erode our Founding principles.  Enough is enough, and President Trump is setting a path to a better future, and if you do not understand that, then you will never understand Republicans.
