When my wife walked in this morning and said, “You will not believe what the DNC has done now,” I have to admit I was not expecting what she told me. I could have believed yet another “Gay Pride Parade,” “Pro-Palestine Protest,” or “Illegal Immigrants are just Newcomers” speech. But I was not prepared for what she told me about the joint efforts of the Democratic Party and Planned Parenthood to trivialize life further. The DNC, in a shocking move, has partnered with Planned Parenthood to offer free abortions and vasectomies at their event, a move that I find deeply troubling and morally reprehensible.
A Nation Divided
No issue has divided us as a nation more than abortion. Pro-abortion advocates are primarily Democrats; Pro-life advocates are largely Republicans. It is along the liberal versus conservative lines that this critical issue divides. But some Democrats claim to be Pro-life; that is either an outright lie, or they have deluded themselves into believing you can be for the killing of babies while advocating for such nonsensical causes as PETA. You can be for saving the planet for our children and grandchildren while killing them off before they have a chance at life.
The contradiction in logic is apparent. The perversion of infanticide into nothing more than a casual choice says much about the times we live in and the deliberate destruction of our society. Many, if not most, pro-abortion advocates have always led the charge to undermine the church and religious teachings.
The Stairway to Heaven
There is good evidence that the term “Stairway to Heaven” originates from the Bible Book of Genesis. In this story, Jacob dreams of a ladder that stretches from Earth to Heaven. For some, Jacob’s ladder represents a climb, a spiritual journey toward God and enlightenment. For many, Jacob’s ladder represents the climb toward spiritual growth.
It is also essential to recognize the ladder’s physical attributes. Ladders are narrow and accommodate only one person at a time, signifying the personal nature of the climb to a better place. It also represents the value of making this personal journey alone. The ladder also signifies that few will make the journey.
Over time, this reference to Jacob’s ladder has morphed into the Stairway to Heaven. The stairway’s significance is no different from that of the ladder. The stairway is less accommodating than a road and requires a climb from earth to somewhere better, somewhere loftier.
Whether a ladder or a stairway, the way to Heaven is intentionally more difficult than living a life free from boundaries. The stairway to Heaven is a difficult climb, but most things worth our time and effort are difficult and strengthen us morally and physically.
The Highway to Hell
Images and depictions of Hell are common and have been depicted by many artists throughout history. Dante’s vivid fourteenth-century description and depiction of the nine levels of Hell, which portray progressive levels of depravity, can paint a picture no worse than the latest move by Democrats.
If Jacob’s ladder represents a climb to a better world, then the Bible describes Hell as the opposite. Hell represents a separation from God and a place of weeping and torment. When we describe Hell, we speak of “descending into Hell” for a reason. Hell is neither uplifting nor desirable.
The Highway to Hell symbolizes the ease with which we slip into a life of sin. In today’s society, a highway (a superhighway) is needed to accommodate all who choose this path.
Is There a Path to Redemption?
I have long since given up on the pro-abortion crowd. Individuals who are so deluded that they do not believe terminating the life of the unborn is a sin are beyond redemption. In my view, their support for abortion is a stark example of how our society has lost its moral compass. It is a living example that just because something is legal does not mean it is moral. Our generation, the Boomers, are the worst. As a generation, we have led the charge to weaken the underpinnings of society on many fronts. Abortion is the most damaging legacy of them all.
A New Low
Even for the DNC, this is a new low. When you think they cannot stoop any lower, they prove us wrong and come in with a new twist. For Democrats, a free abortion is a promotion gimmick, a chance to gather votes and a recruiting opportunity. I assume they will pass out stickers like “I Voted” stickers, proclaiming that they had an abortion. This is not just a political strategy; it is a moral outrage.
I am concerned about our nation’s future generations and their lack of appreciation for right versus wrong. They have been schooled to believe that infanticide is all right if the baby is unplanned or unwanted.
The Bible gives several references to Heaven and Hell; if you are a believer, this is an absolute, not an imaginary concept. Democrats and the Pro-Abortion crowd must deride religion to try to discredit Heaven and Hell to justify their actions to themselves.
How our press and other politicians deal with this development will tell us a lot about our nation’s spiritual health. I fear that if we continue down this path of moral decay, we will lose sight of what is truly important, and our society will suffer. The mantra for the Pro-Abortion crowd has gone from “safe, legal, and rare” to “free abortions on the bus for all.”
The Kamala bus is leaving the station, and if I had just been conceived, I would be nervous.
